For Carson Sander, health has never been just a career. It’s a calling shaped by lived experience and an unshakable belief in doing things differently.
Raised on a farm in west-central Saskatchewan, Carson grew up with a deep respect for resilience, resourcefulness and long-term thinking. But beyond the physical demands of rural life, it was his family’s experiences with chronic illnesses, many of which could have been ameliorated, that would leave the deepest impression.
That exposure sparked a life-long question: what if we could detect issues earlier? What if people had more time to act. Before symptoms appeared, before damage was done?
Carson spent over a decade in the health and performance sector, working with Olympic-level athletes and everyday individuals alike. He founded and successfully ran a fitness facility starting in 2018, earning a loyal client base by delivering consistent value, through the uncertainty of the COVID-19 pandemic.
But he also began to see the limitations of reactive healthcare. Where interventions often come too late, and where people, especially those outside the system’s spotlight, fall through the cracks.
His move into technology started with a strategic advisory role at HerdWhistle Technologies, an ag-tech startup he helped scale to global distribution with Hendrix Genetics. It was here he began bridging sectors, applying operational insight from agriculture into fitness and then on to larger systemic challenges, including the demands of an ageing population, the global rise of the longevity movement, increasing pressure on healthcare systems, the need for preventative health solutions, and the widening gap in health equity.
Today, as CEO and founder of PhantomOmics, Carson is bringing it all together. With the empathy of someone who’s seen what’s at stake, the clarity of someone who’s worked on the front lines of health, and the vision of someone who believes we can do better.
PhantomOmics is his answer to that belief. A platform built around non-invasive, early detection tools designed to support individualised, proactive care. It’s about giving clinicians more information, giving people more time, and giving families a better chance at prevention and peace of mind.
